I Wish I Had a Polar Bear

by Chessie aged 10

I wish I had a Polar Bear,
we’d run around all day
And when the tide went out
We’d splash about in the bay.

He’d take me to the Arctic
And show me his family,
Then we’d swim in the sea
And climb out happily.

I would show him the library,
And all my favourite books,
After that the cinema,
Is where he would want to look.

I’d take him to the ice cream shop
And ask for two big cones,
Then I’d ask for two scoops,
That taste like snow!

When it was time to go home,
I’d put him in my bag
And take him on a carousel,
So the walk home wouldn’t be bad.
