Its wings spread,
its voice shrieks.
Through pain and loss,
the bird never speaks.
It escapes through the cage,
always thinking it’s free.
But thee bird
shall never see..
The dangers of
the world itself.
The frightful risks,
that may affect thee’s health.
The bird thinks about the cage,
and how others didn’t get set free.
Thee bird always thinks,
“What is that was me?”
So thee bird sings to others
outside of the cage.
But truly inside,
the bird fills with rage.
Rage for the owner,
which traps them behind bars.
They have to look up at the skies,
to look for shooting stars.
And thy shooting stars
is for them to make a wish upon a star.
They always hope and dream
that this wish goes far.
