I Can See

by Charlie Young aged 12

The world is dying
Before our eyes
But we ignore
The selfless cries

I can see the melting ice
Disappearing, destroyed inside
I fear the bears and foxes too
As they believe there’s nothing they can do

I can see the trees swaying
Leaves dropping
Turning brown
Falling slowly until it dies

I can see the world dissolving
Slowly being destroyed
We made this choice all by ourselves
And now we will all suffer together
