As the sun rose in the sky,
The antelopes woke and came.
But hiding in the deep caves,
The predators were ready for their game.
A game of ‘Chase’ or ‘It’
However not so friendly or fun.
Instead the hyenas played to feast
Until their prey were finished and done.
As the victims ate and ate their meal,
Which was fresh green grass,
The scavengers quietly hid
Waiting for their pass.
Every adult were silent,
Every child was in peace.
Until….POUNCE!
The scroungers began the ambush
That the targets were going to face.
The attack was rough
And the antelopes began to panic.
The hyenas surrounded them
While trying to nick a pick.
Finally, after a long time,
Most prey made their escape.
Only a few had been caught
With the hyenas
Feeding on their scraps.
Good poem. Well done.
