Sometimes, gold isn’t everything
Midas could tell you that
For there once was a king filled with grasping greed
And a favor from the gods he received
And from that day forth
Everything he touched turned to gold
His palace was a dazzling yellow
Encrusted with jewels to represent his wealth
Corridors blinding and reflecting infinite riches
Yet little did this do to satisfy the king
For those with greed cannot be satisfied
And then he had a daughter to fulfill his joys
But when he hugged the girl, as a father would to his daughter
She froze and became heavy metal
Only then did he realize
That his powers were more a curse than a blessing
And so he begged for his daughter to return
And she did, for the price of his curse
And he hugged his daughter once again
Knowing, that she was worth more than all the gold in the world
