The Gnat AT

by Alexis Smitley aged 12

Their once was a gnat,
His name was AT.
Once AT the gnat was in the hat; his home.
Then he bit the rat that lived next door.
Then with a CRASH and a BANG and a SPLAT
Poor AT the gnat got thrown out the door.
The Gnat went back to his hat.
Then AT the gnat sat, and then he met a cat named Pat.
The cat named Pat ate the rat that threw AT the gnat
Out of his rat home back to his hat.
Luckily the cat named Pat didn’t eat gnats.
Then the cat named Pat said scat to AT the gnat.
Pat the cat gave AT the Gnat a pat.
This was a cat that was a crazy, cooky, kitty cat!
That cat’s fur was as soft as a baby’s bottom.
AT the gnat said to Pat the cat
Why did you do that?
He said, Because the rat’s mother is coming to attack.
Luckily AT the gnat fell on to a straw hat.
The hat said what was that?
Then AT the gnat said it was just me who made you fall flat.
Then he hid underneath the straw hat as mama rat
Came at Pat the cat and AT the gnat with a bat.
That was the end of Pat the cat and AT the gnat.
So that’s that!
