Future

by Iris Betts aged 9

Ambition
Where does it go when there is no vision?
How does it live when people aren’t wishing?
Silence or rhythm
Truth or fiction
Subtraction or addition
These questions are all winking
And the answers are all hidden
But
Perhaps there will be wisdom
The future it is glistening
Like the stars in the sky that are shining
Though the path may be winding
At the end there is an horizon
Where in the future ambitions are flying
Like birds soaring and gliding
And they land, smiling
It’s blinding
Future
Ambition
And you’re still hiding?
