End of Year

by Charlottei aged 12

the months pass by on the calendar
five months, we get to May
all is calm until the end
and here in bed I lay

my exams are in a week, I’ll be fine
just in my room I’ll stay
should I revise? I don’t know how
so I guess here in bed I lay

I want my scores to be as high as the sky
which right now is a cloudy grey
I have all weekend to revise, lots of time
and yet here in bed I lay

the tests are soon I should revise
I have an exam in just a day
but I’m currently procrastinating, as I do
and here in bed I lay

I was up all night, stressing out
I watched as night turned into day
and now I’m tired, as tired as can be
and here in bed I lay

it’s all right I think, I’m leaving my house
as I rush out I feel each sun ray
I jump on the bus, almost falling asleep
I wish that in bed I still lay

break has gone, lunch is now
The next period is the test
I fill up with dread and so much regret
I wish I had gotten some rest

the bell rings sharp, an alarming noise
my teeth begin to grit
I enter the room, shaking with nerves
now here in class I sit

Excellent. Is this based on reality? If so, I hope it went well.
