The hopelessness within is unbearable
The anger, the pain, it crushes you
You want to know what it’s like to be free
You wouldn’t want to be me
The world doesn’t care for you
They will push you aside the second they see something they could gain
You never had happiness, or a chance to believe
You wouldn’t want to be me
You don’t remember the last time you felt loved
Then you remember: there never was a time
Life’s flown by and left just a bad dream
You wouldn’t want to be me
The world doesn’t love you, never has and never will
You’ve realised how truly evil some other people are
You finally understand what it’s like to be a refugee
YOU WOULDN’T WANT TO BE ME
I WROTE THIS POEM HOPING TO BRING AWARENESS OF HOW SOME PEOPLE IN THE WORLD FEEL. REFUGEES, THE HOMELESS, THOSE IN POVERTY. I HOPE YOU REALISE HOW MUCH THOSE PEOPLE SUFFER. I’M NOT SAYING THERE IS ANYTHING YOU CAN DO, BUT I WANTED TO BRING AWARENESS TO THE FACT THAT SOME PEOPLE IN OUR WORLD DO SUFFER. EVEN IF I CAN’T CHANGE THAT, I WANT TO MAKE SURE NOBODY FORGETS IT. THANK YOU FOR READING MY POEM.
What a very true but heartrending poem. I love the way you set it out, a very heartfelt structure. Well done for your contribution.
