Winning Poem

My dog began to speak to me
After he ate some history
He knows the Egyptians and the Greeks
My dog knew knowledge historians seek
He told me that Egypt has fertile land
But there is a lot of desert sand
Greece has a lot of olives and cheese
But they had war beyond the great seas
Romans have reigned two hundred years
Because of the wars fought with spears
The Vikings were pirates of the UK
But they are still feared by people today
My dog told me many things about history
I write this poem very happy
Despite the fact I knew these facts
There is one thing I do lack
A social studies study guide
Because my dog ate my textbook
