Detective James

by Chamalka Rupasinghe aged 12

The alarms ringing,
The rubies gone,
Catch that thief,
Before dawn.

Call the detective and tell him why,
He’ll be in moment,
So please don’t cry.

Madam Lucy’s ruby is stolen,
To find the ruby you are chosen.
Detective James is on the case,
I’ll bring the ruby back to this place.

Search for prints,
Clues and hints,
Use your dog and catch a scent.

Look for clues up and down,
Search that thief all over town,
He can run but never hide,
Cause Detective James is on the ride.

Find the suspects,
Do various fights,
Question them,
All day and night.

Found the culprit,
Send him to jail,
Justice is won
Detective James will never fail
