Diner

by Charlottei aged 10

tables red and white checks
breaded chicken wings and necks

fizzy drinks with plastic straws
barbeque wings with tender cores

hot churros with a chocolate dip
the waiters: greedy; looking for a tip

arcade games with buzzing sounds
games of pool and poker, endless rounds

flirting bartenders with strange tattoos
cocktails and beers with funky hues

I left with a full stomach and a stranger’s hair bow
when your lonely the diner’s the place to go!
