Don’t tell me you’ve helped
You’ve only done worse
Want the answers?
Ask Greta Thumburg
One day we’ll look back
To when we were eight
To when the world was happy and great
People don’t listen
We’re just to young
Don’t bother with that
The adults will get it done
But if you’re all so great
Why is there still war?
When will it stop?
When will the line be drawn?
Don’t say that they’re trying
Because you know they are not
Ukraine is still dying
And Russia hasn’t stopped
Animals are withering
So don’t be surprised
If your son asks
What’s a rhino?
In 2045
You know about icebergs
You know of their fall
But you haven’t stopped smoking
And pumping out fuel
The things that we do
They’re taking our lives
We’re killing our planet
We’re stopping it survive
There are fires
And bombs
There are tramps
And there are wrongs
There are thieves just like us
We are the same
We are stealing our future
This is our game
So don’t tell me that you have tried to help
You’ve only done worse
A poem won’t change the seas
But it will change your brain
And that’s what it’s worth
