You need fingers to reach the plugs
Not the tree’s own
For if he did that he would smash things
Including the glass gnomes!
If the tree does not have any help
He would need a voice to yelp.
The angels sing on their string
And birds sing their happy words.
If he had no star
We would need to get one from afar.
Golden apples, oranges and pears
Hang above the Christmas bears.
One pear jumped off the tree
And wanted to sit beside me
Doing my advent calendar, happily.
Baubles are the greatest of all
They look beautiful and colourful.
Red, orange, blue and green
Are the best to be seen.
I love the glass crocodile
We will try to keep him for a while.
The snowman asks, “Where is the snow?”
“It’s coming,” says Santa, “Ho ho ho.”
When you come home from school
Remember to press the switch on the wall
To see the lights nice and bright
Shining out until midnight.
