The Bird That Never Flew

by Jamie Lea-Seagreen aged 9

Birds fly in the air
around the trees, here and there
but one bird is on the ground
staring at them flying around

The poor penguin who never flew
when he arrived he was so new
but he is happy on the ice
and he still very nice

I love the poem. The penguin was sad at the beginning but it was happy at the end. Well done Jamie ??

Wow, this poem really stood out to us. To be a bird and not be able to fly! But luckily the penguin is happy on the ice. We loved it. Jamie Lea-Seagreen is an extremely talented poet. We hope he knows it 🙂

A lot of thought went into this poem. I like that he knew and could compare the birds to the penguin. Well done.

I loved your poem Jamie. I wonder who was more free. The bird in the sky. Or the ice bound penguin. Well done. Xxxxxx
