It’s a funny thing, to watch an ant
Never a second of labor lost
To and fro, an eternal scurry
To work and serve, whatever the cost
The lowly ant its nation it serves,
facing forces with which it’s never reckoned
And like the well-laid plans of mice and men;
Destroyed and gone in a single second
