Hi Elsie. I think you should have another go at this poem. Three things I think would improve it. Firstly the matter of rhyme. It begins as a rhyming poem then stops rhyming. This kind of poem suits a rhyme – so my first suggestion would be to make it rhyme all the way through. Secondly there are some obvious things you’ve said – such as using an umbrella when it rains. Tigers having a race, on the other hand, is much more interesting. Thirdly, there are a lot of animals in it – and I kept thinking it was an animal poem. So I think you should have either fewer animals in it – or all animals. What do you think? Are you up for a challenge?
