A Guiding Friend

by Aviana Dawda aged 7

I am a guiding friend,
guiding Sarah through her everyday life.
I see the world differently than she, detecting danger is the job for me.
Noisy children I hear everyday, why does that girl have a dog? I hear people say
Imagine a world full of darkness and no light, she was only 2 years old when she lost her sight.
I am her eyes, like a guiding light,
Like a star shining bright.
I see the world in shape and sound, when I see danger I must stand my ground.
Her world full of darkness and no light, I pray each day she regains her sight.
But for now I am her trusted friend,
Her guiding light until the end.
