A Day In The Woods

by Fran Lawton aged 12

A pretty summer morning
I glided out of the nest
To the woods I escaped
For a little rest

The autumn was coming
All leaves turning brown
Tumbling quicker
They were falling down

Next came winter
The floor turning white
I hopped on the ground
And suddenly took flight

The glorious spring
Flowers blooming
I was up in the tree tops
Up there zooming
