A Day in the Park

by Hanna George aged 12

The joy of nearby kids filled the air
As the birds washed away bitterness with their song
Sweet couples stayed there long
Filling the air, excited shouts from the nearby fair

Horizon filled with orange while the sun slowly set
People slowly walked away while the fields empty with no pets
The soft, glowing twilight calling her name
Slowly vanishing from the vat frame

Darkness filling the world
While I felt the winds whirl
Silent rusting of trees echoed
The tall grass swayed to the air-flow

Clouds parted letting the moon shine its light in the air
All left darkness of the fair
