A Beautiful Tune

by Nellie Newton aged 8

On the rocks
By the green, green grass
Was a man who lay on a pile of hay
He played a tune
Such a wonderful, bright tune
That the miserable sky turned light blue
The trees danced as the birds tweeted
And one by one, flowers grew
And the sun appeared out of the clouds too
It was a magnificent sight to see in the light
As the man played his tune.

Absolutely brilliant, terrific use of language loved the poem, amazing for a child of 8
