2020 Vision

by Saskia Cambatta aged 12

I see, the World needs to change.
Its getting drastic!
For me to grow old.
Beaches covered in plastic!
It used to be cold.
Now the Planets getting warmer.
Animals dying, Earth’s feeling like a sauna.

I see Covid coming, symptoms arising.
The Government eventually started advising.
Schools out. Lockdown. No one flying!
Wear masks in schools and shops, stop people dying!

I see George Floyd was killed leaving the shops.
By who? No way! It was the cops!
Black Lives Matter on the news.
Protesters arrested for what is right.
Gun shots ooze.
But it was only a fight!

Not all things are sugar on ice.
Like the icebergs making the sea levels rise.
These problems won’t just melt away.
I see the Earth starting to decay.
In my 2020 vision today.
