Off By Heart

Our June Competition is now CLOSED. (That’s because it’s July.)
Thanks to everyone who entered. The winning entries will be published in the next week or so. Watch out for them.
A new competition will be starting soon.

We asked you to: Write and send us a poem that you think would work well if you read it out loud or performed it. And a poem that you think would be easy to learn off by heart. It can be about anything you like but should have a strong rhythm and a good rhyme. Having a good rhythm and rhyme will usually help you memorise a poem. It might be a good idea for your poem to have a chorus – and lots of repetition could help as well. We have five copies of Off By Heart for the best poems and five Off By Heart posters for the best five runners-up. The deadline is the last day of June and the winners, runners-up and the best of the rest will be will appear here in July. Write your poem in the competition box below. And make sure you include your email address so that we can contact you if you win.
