The NATIONAL POETRY DAY competition is now CLOSED.
Big thanks to everyone who entered. The winners will be announced soon. Hope you had a grand National PoetryDay. keep on reading and writing poems!
IT’S NATIONAL POETRY DAY in the UK on October 1st. So here’s a chance for you to win a copy of The Same Inside – Poems about Empathy and Friendship – by Liz Brownlee, Matt Goodfellow and Roger Stevens. And a chance for you to share the poems you have written this week with all our Poetry Zone visitors. The theme is VISION. Your poem could be about the things you can see all around you, the things you see in your imagination, or about visionaries – inventors, artists, musicians and famous people from the past. Your poems can be in any form, such as cinquains, clerihews or haiku. They can be rhyming or not rhyming, serious, funny or sad. As you send us your poems they will appear directly in The Poetry Zone competition section. We will announce the winners in November.
Write your poem in the competition box below. And make sure you include your email address so that we can contact you if you win. You don’t have to come from the UK but poems must be in English. And you must be aged between 3 and 18 years old to enter. You may enter as many poems as you like. Poems MUST be your own work.
The competition closes on SATURDAY OCTOBER 10th 2020
Good luck!
