Whispers of the Night

by Isabella

In the darkness of the night,
Illuminated by the moon’s soft light.
I hear a whisper in my ear,
A voice that fills me with fear.

It speaks of love and loss,
Of dreams shattered that will make you toss.
Of hope that fades away,
And of time that never seems to stay.

But then the whisper changes tune
And sings of stars that brightly bloom.
Of a joy that grows and fills the heart
Of a brand new beginning, a brand new start.

I open up my eyes,
And see the beauty in the night skies.
The stars that twinkle in the night,
And fill me with their gentle light.

And though the whisper fades away,
I know that it will come another day
To fill my heart with love and light,
And guide me through the darkest night.

The Frog’s Croak

0
by Isabella

There once was a frog from Peru
Who loved to sing the whole day through
But all the other frogs would groan
His voice was like a dying moan

He tried to practice every night
To hit the notes just right
But even with his best attempt
His croaks were like a bad contempt

One day he met a toad who said
“Your voice is not so bad, my friend
It’s just a matter of technique
Let me show you, it’s not unique.”

So they sat down by the pond
And the toad began to bond
He taught the frog to use his lungs
And hit the notes without the grunge

Now every frog and every toad
Gathers round to hear him croak
He sings with joy and no more fear
And everyone now gives a cheer

So let this be a lesson to you
Don’t be afraid to try anew
With a little help from a friend
You’ll find success in the end!

My Phone

by Ivy Evans

It’s like being trapped in a box
I’ve done nothing wrong!
I have the maturity
The responsibility

But i’m not trusted
Why?
I can’t open up
Share my feelings to anyone
Somehow she’ll find out

Nothing is private, it all gets read
even things not meant for her
How does it stop?
I’m a good student why am I being punished?

A 30 word poem that rhymes but doesn’t make sense

birds fly,
seagulls cry.

pointless pencils,
silver utensils.

falling in love,
one favourite dove.

you are full of glee,
and I’m just glad to be me!

birds fly,
seagulls cry.

Different, Not Incapable

by Audrey

When people see you they see
Your accomplishment,
Your looks and style.

They might not be the same,
But they are just different,
People don’t need to be hostile.

You are capable,
No matter what they say,
No matter what they think.

You are you,
So try as they may,
You don’t need to get in sync.

You are remarkably different,
You are perfect the way you are,
So get out and be the great you.

Don’t let others make you change,
Just be the shining star,
The wild dreams are yours to pursue.

And remember,
Different doesn’t mean Incapable,
You can do what you put your mind to.

Eye of a special Heart~

The time of your life,
when you get married and have a wife,
or husband or whatever, nobody cares,
for all you could imagine
is the story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears.

Everyone has a different type of path to guide their way,
Worshipping God everyday,
They feel like this is the way to Heaven.
Their lucky numbers are probably eleven.
But this is their life, we don’t need any stupid laws.

We know what is wrong,
So please do not make the same choice twice.
We know what is right,
And they are not going to give up their fight.

Silver Ink

I draw my lines in silver,
Each dancing around the other,
The floor gets busy, and they begin to glide into one another.
My silver seeps, into every inch,
my silver covers, every intrusive place,
my silver embeds itself, layer upon layer.

Silver weaves in and out,
A warming flowing river,
The current is mesmerising,
Pulled in, it drowns you,
Head under, can’t breathe,
Nobody can find you here.

It holds my hand,
A friend.
My beautiful hidden friend,
The longer we are apart the more I miss you
I yearn for your cold touch.

You touch places that nobody else will see,
Just you and me.
Can it always be, you and me?
Nobody else is there for me like you,
My crutch, my dependable.

Lonely

people around me
yet I’m so alone
voices shouting
but not my own
crying my heart out
trapped in this room
with no escape
I’m begging for you

Doors To Escape Reality

2
by Molly Carter

Reading is a door to the imagination,
where you’re transported to any place you can think of.
Reading is a door to other universes,
whether they exist or not is up to you.
Reading is a door to dystopian lands,
tragic and lonely with no way out.
Reading is a door to fiction,
as soon as you stop, reality crashes down on you.
Reading is a door to so many other worlds,
it would take a lifetime to count them all.
Reading is a door to islands,
some could be amazing to stay at, others you’d only ever want to leave.

Learning

I am learning that I don’t always have to make noise to be seen,
that even my silence has a spine, a rumble
and says, I’m here – in its native tongue
