My Love Poem

6
by Imogen aged 7

Love is in everyone
Love is in you
Who gave love?
I have no clue
We are told that we are loved,
Every single day,
We are loved all day,
And to get loved even more,
Use manners like ‘please may’
If you think that you’re not being loved,
Do not worry because you still are.
You are loved all the time!

Hidden Beauty

1
by Jada aged 12

O hidden beauty, why must you hide?
I seek you so, I cry for you.
When I see you, I become full of joy.
You have come again, o my hidden beauty.
When you leave, I am nothing.
When we are no longer together, I harden my heart.
Stay with me and let us not part.
You set me free, you hold the key to the chains that bind me.
Hidden beauty, stay with me like a permanent tattoo.
Never leave my side.
I would do anything to keep you with me.
I will shout “I love you” from the rooftops,
Even give my own life to have you.
O Hidden beauty, don’t you see?
I’ll love you for all eternity.

Friends

by Arisha aged 8

Friends are who supports you
Who are always with you when you cry
And play with you when you need fun
And are there when you need someone to be by your side

Family Bonded Together in Love

0
by Arisha aged 8

We bond over a cup of tea,
and gel over charades,
in every healthy argument,
our grades get better
and a mum giving good toys
that only have parades.

Dove

by Amanda Huang aged 12

Dove soaring through
the brilliant night sky.
The moon, a bright figure
dipped in its effervescent shine.
The stars illuminating
the rest of the midnight sky.
My heart
follows them.

A Kiss Like No Other

0
by Ellen Sludds aged 11

Underneath the shining stars,
Beneath the misty air,
Stood my boyfriend,
Wrapping me within his care.

And right at that moment,
He leaned into me,
His lips were on mine,
It was so divine.

Sunset Sky

by Zaiya Gandhi aged 13

A sky is filled with colors
Like orange, pink, and blue
And it doesn’t hurt to add
A bit of purple too

A touch of magenta
And a very bright pink
Add more color to the sky
As the sun begins to sink

In the East, however
There are only two
They are always in the sky:
The two shade of blue

The first shade is light blue
In just a small part of the sky
And then there is navy
In a larger part it lies

There are many colors
That are in the sky today
Hinting that tomorrow
Will be an even prettier day.

Closer

0
by Meaghan Farrell aged 15

Lying in silence,
I stare into your eyes.
Time seems to freeze,
I become mesmerized.

All of my problems,
they begin to disappear.
Your arms around my waist,
I let go of my fears.

I can feel your warm breath,
right on my nose.
My lips form a smile,
and my eyes start to close.

Closer and closer,
as the minutes go by.
My body’s against yours,
but my head’s in the sky.

You lean in closer,
it must be a dream.
Life must be better,
much better than it seems.

Mum

by Arisha Gondal aged 8

Mum, wherever you are
my heart has one place empty
just for you
but remember
no one is going to take that place
so please come back

Gone

5
by Niamh Chilvers aged 10

Once there was me and him,
Times were never grim.
Hope… there was none,
And now… he’s gone…

We grew up together,
I thought it would last forever.
I thought our love would’ve won,
But now… he’s gone…
