I Love YOU, Mom

10
by Imani B. aged 10

Mommy, I love you,
you are the best.
You make me practice and practice
so that I can get an A+ on my test.
Mommy, I love you,
you make me happy.
But, when I cook for you
my pancakes are a little flappy.
Mommy I love you,
you are so loving.
Mommy I love YOU.

Depression

by Autumn D. aged 10

I started off low,
with nowhere to go,
eventually hiding,
speaking with writing.

In school of course
I was not “cool”,
I was instead
taken as a fool.

Though I had strong belief
in my heart,
I thought
it would break apart.

Always under pressure,
receiving lesser and lesser,
though I always stayed calm,
till one day at dawn,

I knew my heart
would never be gone,
I was truly loved
and forever will.

Wedding Long Love

1
by Elliott Lucia Bernice Abbott aged 8

Since I layed eyes on my love
Our story began
Our love grew, strong and sturdy
Like the grand oak
It started week dates out,
white wine and soon a ring.
Then it changed, it got stronger
And got more romantic
It turned into a wedding ring.

Oh the moon lit sky on our honeymoon
That truly was a moment.
We hang on to these stages of life
We complete and remember,
Forever, love blossoms bloom.
What’s your love story ?

The Willow Tree

1
by Issie Jones aged 10

The willow tree
The older it gets
The pain that starts
But you don’t care

The leaves that fall
The dying light
The crunching sound
But you run off

The eerie darkness
The longer it stays
The way of life
But you stay fine

And I want to know
why you can’t
love anyone
any more.

Why am I so lonely?
Shrek is life
(and also all I have).

Death

no heart no soul
I’m alone
no pain but I still feel it somehow
then you are here
I run
I hide

Red, white, blue. I love you.
It doesn’t matter where I am as long as I am with you

Red, white, blue
Everybody loves you

If you were mine I’d never let you go
Red, white, blue, I love you

The Lover

by Lingling Bao-Smith aged 13

He sits in his room contemplating what he should write.

Pen on paper, he starts to write a loving message. He looks at it for a while.

He shakes his head and screws it up. Then he starts again.

This time he writes every emotion he thinks of about his lover.

He picks up his paper, pen still poised in his hand. He starts to smile.

The next day he secretly delivers the letter, hoping that his lover will read it soon.

But he broke up with me
That’s what love is all about
