Flower

2
by Charlottei aged 10

soft brown earth
crumbly soil
pushed over with a shovel
so it wouldn’t spoil

a single seed
planted deep within
the plant started off
rather thin

then over some weeks
with water and light
the plant looked
quite a sight

a pink flower
with patches of red
orange pollen
and a hanging head

pretty in the sun
snug at night
the pink flower
was very bright

then more months
and covered with bees
good weather and
a light breeze

the plant shared its seeds
all over the ground
and the metamorphosis
went once more round

The Rose

1
by Rabbit Girl aged 11

When we stand upon the hill,
the wind blows through your hair,
you turn to me and smile,
you don’t have a care,
The most beautiful person I know,
is standing right beside me,
you take my hand in yours,
and put your arm around me.
When your eyes lock on mine,
I know it’s the rose,
the rose that you put in my hair,
the one that bought us together,
the one that made my heart glow,
the one that put a smile on your face,
the one that gave me courage,
the one that will stay forever…

Love Can’t Be Ignored

0
by Happy Girl aged 10

True love can’t be ignored
hear it out, listen for it
find your soulmate with glee
you might meet them at the sea
or the park
There are days you wanna ignore
but remember them
you will find your love eventually

Love Story

1
by Julia aged 11

You bought me the sun when I saw rain
and I could hear you whispering my name.
You are strength.
You are warmth and you always make the smile appear.
Every time I say I love you
I’m trying to say that you are my world.
You are the twinkle in my eye
and my greatest dream
and no matter how much times we fight
you will always be my king.

Dragon

over the hills
past magical fairyland
through crystal water beaches
with white shiny sand

above the sea
then over the moors
through the mountains
can you hear the roars?

cliffy edges
and jagged stones
into the lair
of skulls and bones

skulls and bones
lava red-hot
blood and bodies
stirring round in a pot

a snort of smoke
and fire alight
the candle flickered
no longer was it bright

red eyes
ready for a fight
the dragon
forever ready for a fight

a twitch of a tail
and the roar of death
gleaming teeth
and smelly breath

the dragon rose
in gusto and glory
I died
pass on the story

Fridges

2
by Charlottei aged 10

I went to Currys PC world
with my family
we went in the car
I had Lipton ice tea

We went inside
it was rather cold
“the fridges are that way”
we were told

We went upstairs
on the escalators
so many different
refrigerators

Silver, gold,
ice blue
some with water and ice dispensers
freezers too

I got bored
I played with my rubber band
We chose a fridge and a freezer
Bosch was the brand

We took it home
After buying the fridge
we drove in the car
crossing a bridge

then we got home
and filled it with food
I ate a lot
I was in a good mood

Love Stared to Fade

0
by Amy aged 11

My love blossoms like the sun
but when it’s dark the love is gone
My heart stops to see you with another
Girl you tell me it just you sister, but I can see
though lies as sweat down your shoulder
Oh please tell me it’s just a dream
See a kiss on your face, why me, why me
Crying crystal down my face as my blossom stared
to
crumble.

Crumble

Shopping at the Shops

0
by Charlottei aged 10

What I bought at the shops
is a little random, don’t call the cops

I bought…
bagels and bread
I like it I said

Tomatoes and more fruit
a grape hit my boot

Baked beans and ice cream
my family- my shopping team

Soap and hand wash
maybe a butternut squash

Some lemonade, some coke
then my brother starts to provoke

Sushi and sweets
oats and cut meats

Chicken curry
get it in a hurry

A ruler that starts to bend
this shopping spree is at its end

Lonely Girl

1
by charlottei aged 10

Lonely girl all alone
miles away from comforting home
long branches tall trees
grey skies a light breeze

Spooky woods dark and cold
ancient woodland tired and old
grey skies, it begins to rain
walk under the canopy on that lane

Walk up the hill then make a right
the view from here is quite a sight
lonely girl climbs up a tree
in her white silk dress made by me

Down the tree the girl goes
the tree rustles as the wind blows
jumps down from a metre high
the wisdom in her wise eye

An anonymous trail – go straight
then take a left at the wooden gate
The girl breathes out a heavy sigh
she wishes that she could fly

Then in all its glory a sacred swing
the girl gets on and begins to sing
Lonely girl alone am I
this swing makes me feel so high

The grey skies went far away
the blue came and shouted hooray
then the sun came like a golden pearl
and who was happy? The lonely girl

Earth Doesn’t Deserve Us

2
by Charlottei aged 10

Pollution smoking fuel cars
stop this before we go to Mars
Fires melting ice caps
save this planet, turn off the taps

Missiles bombing wars rage
stop this before I’m an older age
Burning forests and sacred wood
humans have ruined my childhood

Animals skinned down to the bone
meanwhile Trump tweets on his phone
Plastic pollution in the sea
living things saved by nobody

Pollution traffic hate war
“The world is amazing.” Are you sure?
So don’t get on the plane or bus
Earth does not deserve us
