I Like Jumping in Puddles

7
by Talia Rose Sandford aged 4

Rain rain go away
Come back another day.

Please don’t rain on people’s heads
Only rain on flower beds.

I want to go and play
But I can’t because
It’s raining drops all day.

You can slide down a rainbow
There’s no ending
Uh oh!!

You slide down the rainbow
And end up jumping in a puddle
When mummy sees me
She gives me a cuddle.

I am Going to Big School

9
by Talia Rose Sandford aged 4

Monday
I am going to big school
And I am staying for lunch.
I am going to eat spaghetti
Twirled in a bunch.

La la la la la la la la.

Tuesday
I am going to big school
And I am learning to count.
Up to 100
And play on the roundabout.

La la la la la la la la.

Wednesday
I am going to big school
And I am learning my sounds
I am doing my jobs
And shouting out loud.

La la la la la la la la.

Thursday
I am going to big school
And I am learning to jog.
Through the tunnel
And on the log.

La la la la la la la la

Friday
I am going to big school
To learn to dance and sing.
Do show and tell
And show my ring.

La la la la la la la la.

In the Car

by Aurora Laughton-Brown aged 6

It is raining, drip drop
It is cloudy and sort of dark
The roads are wet, the grass is wet
The sky is sort of gloomy
The trees are sort of clumsy
There is loud music playing in the car
The windscreen wipers are going up and down
We are chatting and very loudly laughing, singing and also dancing in our seats
Kicking our feet and shaking our heads
We are going fast, fast, fast, fast
It is very bumpy
Yellow, pink, white flowers in the air.

School

by Enid aged 7

School is something that people
don’t like.
but I find I quite like it
The teachers are nice,
the children are nice
everyone is nice.
There’s nothing to worry about
so don’t cry.
Be happy and be delighted
to do anything
Be happy at school.

If I Were a Cat

4
by Joselyn aged 5

If I were a cat I would sit on a mat,
try on a hat and get a good pat.

If I were a dog I would woof all day,
until the 25th of May.

If I were a pony, I wouldn’t be lonely,
my cheeks would be rosy.

If I were a pig, I wouldn’t like to dig,
I would walk in mud but not be very big.

Animals are nice, can be bad, make you sad.
so stay safe from the ones you don’t know.
DON’T talk to strangers or say hello.

Smelly Snail

Smart is his name
and slimy is his game.
Smelly is his smell
And grey is his shell
