Why Do We Do This?

0
by Daniel Hughes-Shaw aged 10

Runner up

Grass grows,
Birds fly,
But we’re the ones they get hurt by

We need to find a solution to pollution,
Pollution everywhere,
Cars, trains and planes, anything in the air

Think of the poor seals, birds and whales,
Plastic in the ocean,
Plastic everywhere!
Shopping bags, water bottles and containers too!
And the only ones who can stop it are me and you!

Wonderous Beauty

0
by Lulya aged 11

Pretty little flutter fellow,
Dressed in wings of pretty yellow.
Without the slightest little push,
There lit upon a thistle bush.
Angelic wings dressed for Jesus,
Gives them love that helps to heal us.
Little hearts of sweet love that caves,
God’s gifted love of joy that saves.
God makes beauty in many forms,
Through sun, rain and thunder storms.
And insects flying through the skies,
Like the small colored butterflies.

The Super Extra-territorial Bird

0
by Shifa Asif aged 10

A land in sight,
The hand-faced birds,
Triangular prismed eyes,
Cylindered tail,
Filled with rainbow glitter,
Pink hair,
Four legs,
Heart shaped wings,
Its beak,
Full of patterned flowers,
Long and wide,
Rectangular body,
I saw
Sat on my arm,
A bird, I became,
The air pressure on my face,
On the rainbowed sky,
A cloud embraced me,
I slept for an hour,
I awoke,
From an exquisite dream!

Duck-billed Platypus

0
by Jasmine aged 11

The duck-billed platypus is an unusual animal
This astonishing creature confuses scientists
because it has not just traits of a reptile
but a mammal as well
It swims in water but feeds its young
It has a bill but has fur
It also has webbed feet to glide peacefully through the water
Mother Nature is the most wonderful but fascinating thing
We must not endanger it nor underestimate it
Don’t test its needs

I Am the Message

2
by Giorgio Belingheri aged 11

I am the message that wakes the world,
I am the world that needs the change,
I am the hurricane that spins the air,
I am the volcano that blasts the ash,
I am the fire that kills the tree,
I am the acid rain that pours from the cloud,
I am the plastic inside the bird,
I am the climate that changes the world,
I am the world polluted by people,

Save Our Animals

0
by Iris Woods aged 8

Save our animals,
They’re dying.
Save our animals,
Will you save them?

Tigers, Elephants, Leopards,
Soon there will be none left.
Monkeys, Insects, Lions,
No more animals for us.

So save them today,
Donate to charity.
And we, yes we
Can ensure the future for our animals is not an animal agony.

Purple Dreams

0
by Tanya Joy aged 5

Lavenders I love
with buds soft as a dove,
Bees humming on the stem
dancing on their tippy-toes!
I raise my magic wand
And into my purple dreams
Off I go…

I Am the Earth

0
by Anna Naidenov aged 11

I am the earth that guards the man,
I am the tree that blows the wind,
I am the light that holts the night,
I am the dark that lights the stars,
I am the flower that grows the seed,
I am the bulb that grows the tree,
I am the owl that hunts the night,
I am the wave that steers the tide,
I am the child that loves the earth.

The Water Cycle

0
by Lilly Evans aged 11

I start off in the deep sea,
Where tiny, floppy fish are all around me,
I evaporate into fluffy white clouds
And everything here makes no sound!

I begin to fall down, I’m rain,
I fall down into an empty motorway lane,
I run down into a river, going away at speed,
Back to the sea, before I leave.

Big Blue Beach

0
by Angeth Thon Ayom aged 11

At the big blue beach
my sister wanted a tan
After, she got her hair bleached
My sis was hot so she got her fan
I ran in the water
found some shells and put them in order
I got so bored and my sis was tired so we went home
I went to my room and read a book about Rome
