The Bright Light

What can you see?
Is it the seagulls above?
Or the blue sky’s glee?
Are they falling in love?

Drift away to the dreamland
Full of rainbows and hope
Feet sunk in the glistening sand
This magical beauty, can l cope?

Wish for a peaceful life
where everything will be fine
The virus still runs rife
But stars, don’t forget to shine!

Beauty

0
by Lola Pinder aged 11

Walking through the forest
all I can is a bunches of flowers
waiting for me,
as gusts of wind sway
from side to side
making crispy leaves
swirl down from the battered oak trees.
Water is sliding down the waterfall
as glistens of tweets
and glistens from the nature.

The Sea

by Emily Metcalfe aged 12

The sea likes to splash and plash
it likes to rumble and roar
but beneath that monster
is something much more
It’s home to coral that silently swishes
and fish that like to splish
but people are breaking
the coral’s home
Oh I just wish that
they would leave them alone.

Don’t Burn the Cookies

1
by Kosio Stantchev aged 10

Bob lost his job
when he burnt the cookies
so left his work but didn’t find a new one.
He was now living on the streets
and only had only a bun.
He started to go crazy
then turned into a monkey
He tried to jump on a tree
but slipped on a banana peel
and bumped into a wrestler.
When he came round his whole body
had turned a purple colour.
It started to rain so he hid in a bin
but then a dumpster truck came
and put him in.
Now he was in the dump and lived there forever.
So that’s why you must not burn the cookies

Giving

I awoke and flung the door
Usual – usual – usual!
I was seeing
a residents never living
was gently, giving
and forgiving

Life Shines

0
by Christopher Pautz aged 14

Most life burns and shines like our incandescent sun,
While humanity has become the black hole
That absorbs joy and happiness yet also pain and sorrow,
Turning life into a bleak and rainy winter day;
Depressing our future is while crumbling at our feet.

What I See

0
by Gracie Edge aged 12

So this is OUR world,
A world of trauma and despair,
A society controlled by the media,
A world so harsh it makes you shed a tear.

A world were your fate is decided,
Based on your gender or race,
A world of secrets and betrayal,
Were people disappear without leaving a trace.

A world were we are told,
We are too young to make a decision,
Or it’s only just a phase.

Cities full of pollution,
Oceans full of plastic,
Comments full of negativity,
And places full of darkness.

We live in a void,
Blocking out the world outside,
Forgetting the people in need,
Forgetting the world we left behind!

One Day

by Jaia Sumbler aged 14

One day, I wake up. The next day I wake up:
365 days later, I wake up and nothing’s changed.
Pollution, pain, people. Pollution spreads pain to
All animals; it is people causing that pain.

One Day

One day you will see what I see,
A world of wonders and greenery,
But only in my mind does this seem to exist
As pollution takes over our planet –
Please, let’s stop this.

A Vision for 2100

0
by Marty Stantchev aged 13

In 80 years what will the world be like?
My vision for the future is like the wheels on a bike,
The possibilities go round and round,
But a Utopian world stands on top of the mound.

Transport like trains will take you from A to B quick,
Houses and buildings will no longer be made out of brick,
Thin metal panels will keep us safe and warm,
That is the future for a house, building or maybe a dorm.

Cars will not need wheels to travel around,
But will be able to float a centimetre off the ground,
Parks will be dotted around each city and town,
Up high and low down.

This example is just one of many,
It could be seen to be as small as a penny,
This is the end of my poem for today,
But the possibilities can go a very long way.
