Orangutan In the Jungle

0
by Dorothy Shaw aged 11

I’m an orangutan in the jungle,
Leaping from tree to tree,
Dancing around as happy as could be,

Light shining through the leaves,
Views that people can never believe,

I carry food for miles and miles,
Bringing it back to cheerful smiles,

Humans, hunters, move and they’ll shoot,
Hide away, quick, from the men in a suit,

I’m an Orangutan in the jungle,
Staying up in my tree,
I hope the stalkers will never find me

The Beach

People flock to the coast,
It’s the place they love the most.
As the sand runs through my toes,
The smell of salt hits my nose.
As I see the crashing waves with my eyes,
I can hear the sound of the birds cries.
People flock to the coast,
It’s the place they love the most.

My Wonderland

0
by Molly Grassam aged 11

Before I go to bed,
I like to imagine things in my head,
What would it be like to have my own wonderland?
Would my world be chaos or grand?

In my wonderland you would find
Trees that wave as you go by,
A captivating blue sea
That could take the heart of you and me,

A mesmerizing moon,
And birds with a never-ending tune,
Colourful, charming towns,
Parties every week and if you wanted you could wear a gown,

As I come back from my wonderland
Feeling quite grand,
I realise it is time to sleep,
I’m glad my imagination is mine to keep.

Vision

by Matilda aged 11

I can see the trees
Waving slowly,
with their snowy caps,
Gloves of orange and brown leaves,
Swaying in the wind,
Under a glittering sky,
The clouds passing by,
A cold winter’s night.

Win, Lose or Draw

by Oscar Jennison aged 11

I like to play football,
It’s such fun,
The VISION I see whilst playing in the sun.

I’m not keen on the snow,
But love the rain,
It’s making friends while playing the game.

On or off the pitch,
Win, lose or draw
I love that feeling when I score.

Celebrating with teammates,
High fives all round,
Local pitch or famous ground.

It doesn’t always,
Go our way,
But there’s always a game another day.

Back to the car,
With a parent we go,
Thankful for the support that they always show.

A Peep Through My Eyes

0
by Isabelle Ranson aged 12

The world is just a ball of joy,
The world is special and not a toy,
Places to walk and talk and laugh,
Animals, small as mice and as tall as the giraffe.
I like the sound of beautiful birds,
And the view of cows and sheep in their herds,
Please let others live their best lives,
Some words don’t hurt us, others are sharp as knives,
Look after the world, or at least just try,
If you don’t, we will have to say goodbye.

My Companion Dream

0
by Iris Parsons aged 10

Trudging slowly through the snow

I suddenly saw a glow

I looked to the side of me

And noticed an old friend

Trudging slowly through the snow

I finally saw the sight of home

My companion gave me a big old cuddle

And helped me up the hill,

Leaving me to piece together my puzzle

Understand Me

0
by Maisie Forman aged 11

Why does no one understand me?
I wish I could set my mind free,
All the anger and pain raging away
It always continues day by day.
There are days I feel so alone,
And days I feel I’m not known
It’s just all too much
But no one knows anything as such
I wish I could just set my mind free,
But why does no one understand me?

I Can See

0
by Charlie Young aged 12

The world is dying
Before our eyes
But we ignore
The selfless cries

I can see the melting ice
Disappearing, destroyed inside
I fear the bears and foxes too
As they believe there’s nothing they can do

I can see the trees swaying
Leaves dropping
Turning brown
Falling slowly until it dies

I can see the world dissolving
Slowly being destroyed
We made this choice all by ourselves
And now we will all suffer together

My Skateboard

0
by Jay James aged 11

I like to go skating, even when it’s raining.
Sometimes I fail, but sometimes I succeed.
My skateboard is messy, but I still use it everyday.
And it’s not too sturdy, but I still go out to play
My skateboard is my favourite item,
and it’s my favourite thing to do,
but when I fall off it,
I get in a bad mood
