Christmas Day
What a time
Lovely presents to find
Underneath your tree
What a treat
Amazing memories too

Christmas Pizza

I love Christmas pizza.
With it baubles and lights
Such a delicious sight.
Sometimes I add sweets as I please.
But a little mouse takes the cheese.
I gobble it all up
I pack up some of the crumbs.
To give the mouse some food
Even though he took the cheese..

I Want to Be a Christmas Tree

I want to be a Christmas tree
And be covered in baubles and lights so bright.
It would give such a sight.
When Santa arrives tonight.
I be alone on Christmas.
So please turn me into tree.
Give me some long branches.
It’s all I want to be

An Ode to Winter

WINNER

The unclothed hedges, the emptied fields,
The pungent spices, the burning coals,
The sooty chimney, clove-scented candles,
The porcupine trees, the silken shawls.
The nutcracker and the nuts that it yields,
Observed by mice through their private mouseholes,
The closed window that, from the cold, us shields,
The doors that opens to the poorest of proles.

The circular wreath, with its red berries, beckons,
Hung like a stocking upon the door,
Like a stocking filled with chocolate and coins.
All have been good this year, Santa Claus reckons,
This winter, I think, all deserve to get more
Of that which, every year, us in unity joins.

Christmas is Starting!

We open up our calendar door,
We start the countdown to 24.
Beautiful houses decorated with lights,
Christmas is such a cheerful sight.
Loads of trees, maybe pine or fir
Are getting put up in houses first.
Santa will arrive and enjoy his milk and cookies
Then hide the presents under the pretty Christmas tree.
I hope you have a great Christmas
(and figgy pudding!)
