Wiggly Worms

by Mackezie Pledger aged 10

Fat worms
skinny worms
long worms
short worms
soft worms
squishy worms
wiggly worms too.

Dark damp places
are great places for worms to go.
Rain drops falling on the ground
bring the worms up
from their damp dark places.

Spiders and Bugs

Spiders are spinning,
Planthoppers are jumping,
Itch mites are illuminating,
Dragonflies are diving,
Earwigs are exciting,
Redcurrant fire-flies are racing,
Scorpions are snipping.

Ants are achieving,
Nits are niggling,
Dung beetles are demolishing.

Bugs are everywhere.
Ugh!
Go away.
Scarper.

Wiggly Worms

by Anna Hughes aged 3

We saw that in our garden, some worms.
They looked like they were orange.
And they wiggled around.
And they would go back in the soil.
I seed them in your composter.
Can I go and see those works again?

(Dictated to Daddy Hughes)

Worm Army

0
by Frankie and Shannon aged 10

There is a worm army coming through the grass
There is a worm army sliming up the slope
There is a worm army with their big hats
the size of rats
There is a worm army eating the cabbage
There is a worm army who loves salami
There is a worm army in their worm farm

Busy Bugs’ Life

0
by Evie Wicks and Leyla Newberry aged 10

Beautiful butterflies are fun,
Busy bees buzzing around the sun,
Wonderful wriggly worms wriggling around,
Suspicious spiders on the muddy ground,

Caterpillars munching on leaves,
Queen bee being the chief,
Lush ladybirds flying in the air,
Mean millipedes like to share!

Worm in the Soil

0
by William Hughes aged 5

I wish I saw a worm wiggling in the soil.
And I wish that it was blue, black or white.

I wish I saw a bee on a flower, rising up above.
From a seed to a daisy, oh what a sight, what a sight

Dragon flies do fly above the clouds.
Oh I wish, I wish that I could fly too!

Worms are Wriggly

0
by Katie H. aged 10

Worms are wriggly,
Worms are squiggly,
I hate worms,
They eat all your leaves or lettuce,
They are soooo wriggly and squiggly,
If you stand on them they will not die,
They stay alive till they get to old,
I hate worms and I am sure they hate me too.

Big Bugs

by Cain Spalding aged 10

I woke up and what is that a giant spider?
A big wriggly worm,
I am as big as a spiders brain,
Centipedes look as big as houses,
Can my life be this short?

Creepy Crawlies: Like or Hate?

0
by Daniel H aged 11

I like butterflies
Because they’re not as horrible as mice.
I think spiders are scary
Just because they’re hairy.
Ladybirds are beautiful
It’s a shame they’re so small!
Moths get on my nerves
Because they like to eat my clothes.
Ants are horrible
Except the one with Dec!
I like flies because they climb up arms…
…even my Mum’s!
Bees are nasty
And they’re so ghastly.

I like creepy crawlies but what’s that?
It’s a whole load of gnats!

If I Brought a Worm to Tea

0
by Jasmine Caddies aged 11

Worms are soft
So worms must be kind.
If I brought a worm to tea
I’m sure my mum wouldn’t mind.
But how would I know his name
That would be unkind.
I think I will leave them in the garden
And forget about the tea
But worm, you still mean a lot to me
