Competition Entry

When I share this tale with you
You may find it strange,
We’ve got a new teacher at school
A new teacher, for a change.

He’s the smartest teacher in the school
I’m sure none can ever deny,
And when I won a race at school
He gave me a high-five!

And sometimes when I am naughty
Or when my grades go down,
He shouts and scolds at me
And scares me with a frown.

Once I banged against the wall,
Scraped my knee and fell,
He helped me with the first-aid
Till I stopped to shout and yell.

On the days I forget my lunchbox
I find him unusually kind,
He readily shares his lunch with me,
Which I too never mind.

My classmates feel he is weird,
The weirdest teacher we’ve ever had,
They still don’t know the secret…
Our teacher is my DAD!

I wish I was a mermaid
swimming beneath the sea
my pet would be a dolphin
who’d swim along with me

we’d play among the coral
and in and out of caves
if we felt brave enough
we’d peep above the waves

maybe my wish will not come true
I’ll have to wait and see
but if you see a mermaid
just wave, it might be ME!!!

I want more!
I need more!
I really want some CANDY
Candy is my favourite,
Candy is the best in all the world!
Candy can come in all sorts of colours,
red, blue and pink.
Candy can come in all sorts of size
small, big or ginormous!
So go and get money
go to the shops and
get Candy right NOW!!

It’s a shame it had to end
I had made many friends

It’s Monday, we’re leaving for our holiday.

It’s Monday, time to set off for the campsite
It’s time to go fishing for cod
it’s time to swim in the sea, in the sea, in the sea.

It’s time to go back to school see all your friends
After your holiday.

what happens if your holiday’s bad,
What happens if it’s very sad,
could you ever be quite glad,
or would you simply turn quite mad?
What happens when that bully knocks on your door,
what happens if tea spills on the floor,
same with the ice cream too,
or your dad buys you toys that are just poor?
What happens if your plane refuses to fly,
what happens if the baby starts to cry,
if your friend tells you a lie,
or you think your going to die?

But as always that won’t happen,
your holiday is going to be cracking,
even if there is a Kracken,
in fun you won’t be lacking.
