My Daddy Lost his Glasses

by Risha Tanwar aged 7

When daddy lost his glasses,
I had lots of classes.
I couldn’t help him,
my mom had to go to the gym.
When I had finished my classes,
I helped my silly daddy look for his glasses.
So I looked behind the cushion,
my daddy looked in a different direction.
I looked in the drawer and I was too tired to look any more.
I looked up,
Oh my silly daddy, your glasses are on your head.

My Poor Little Ben

by Maheen Manzoor aged 11

I
once
had a cat
called Ben, who
incredibly wrote with
a pen. On his ear was a ring,
and he would amazingly sing, that
was my wonderful dog with a ring. Once
Ben was barking that outside there
was a thief larking about inside
the trees, eating a whole
bunch of peas,
so I sent Ben
outside, so
that the
thief would
hide, but the next
day, Ben was gone!

My Poor Little Tadpoles

by Maheen Manzoor aged 11

Mum gave me some tadpoles,
for my fifth birthday…

I called the first Dictionary,
and the second I called Fanawkarerri,
i called my third one Lithewaywe,
an my fourth one Counter Sperii.

I called each one with most delight,
I fed them, and trained them,
from wrong to right.

They slept near my bed all night long,
until that awful day came along,
I woke up to find not tadpoles in my bowl,
but huge green frogs instead, OH NO!

I ran to mom who was downstairs,
and told her all that had happened there.
she told me that frogs must have gobbled them up!
OH, my poor little tadpoles will they ever show up again?

I Lost The Race

by Destiny aged 10

Why,why, why did I have to lose,
Was it because of my shoes?
Now I just want to have a snooze,
And listen to my Motown blues.

Why have I lost,
Please tell me Mrs Frost!
Wait hang on, there is another race!
Let’s do it with pace!

I’ve won, I’ve won,
I’ve won the run!
Wow this is really fun,
It’s a home run!

Up in the Sky

by Danielle aged 10

Up in the sky so very far
Look at that, a falling star
One wish to make, what will it be?
A lot at stake you must agree
Little white light, a glittering ball
With great delight I watch it fall
As soon as it’s gone my wish comes then
To see before dawn one fall again

Lost Mind

There I was on the bathroom floor,
in my own sea of
prescription pills that weren’t mine,
and razor blades that cut deeper
than stubborn hair follicles.
I was sobbing, I was shaking,
and as I was quickly breaking,
you slid through the door
I could’ve sworn that I locked.
You held me, you kissed me,
and as you repeated how much
you would’ve missed me,
I breathed for the first time
in what felt like a century.
My eyes at last opened,
and discovered a hidden route
to lead me out of this dark place
I was trapped inside.
While I laid in your tight embrace,
I knew,
you found me when I truly believed
I would be lost
forever.

When I Lost My Grandad

by Katie H aged 10

When I lost my Grandad,
I lost him at the car boot sale with my Nanny and my Brother,
We were looking for him for 10 minutes,
When we eventually found him
He was down by the toy Smurfs.
We finished the car boot sale with my Grandad,
Then he took me and my brother home.

Dark Angel

by Arshpreet Sidhu aged 13

He resides in my heart
But we have been kept apart
By the Dark Lord himself
Torn apart again and again

But now I have fallen from the God’s Grace
So let me roam this cursed place
As humans call it the Earth
Heaven so beautifully radiant, how worth

The day I lost my Angel
I became a stranger
Until I could not live anymore
But then I found you again

Water For Life!

0
by Harshit Sheh aged 16

Water for living,
Water is crying,
Respect water,
It’s dying…

Water for cooking,
Water for living,
Water for drinking,
Water for living…
No life without water,
No relief without water,
No respect of water,
Wilful neglect of water…

Water is the same,
In all languages.
Try to save it,
Or waste your wages…
