I’m Part of the Reindeer Team

by Megan Simmonds aged 10

I’m part of the reindeer team,
Santa thinks we’re the best.
We are the best 9 reindeer there ever was.
There’s Rudolph,
With his red shiny nose.
There’s Dancer,
An awesome dancer.
There’s Prancer,
Who likes prancing around.
There’s Vixen,
Who likes making cakes.
There’s Comet,
Who likes watching stars.
There’s Cupid,
Who falls in love with everyone she sees.
There’s Donder,
Who likes learning.
There’s Blitzen,
Who likes the world wars.
Then there’s me,
I’m Dasher,
You might’ve guessed.
I’m the fastest them all
But it’s not just about me,
It’s about the reindeer team!!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve:
Merry sleigh bells,
TV sets tipsy with joy
Unopened advent calendars
And the smell of Christmas pudding
Wafting up my nose.

Nothing For Her

0
by Veda Dharwar aged 10

She gazed at the Christmas trees
lighting up the street,
she wished that she could swap with those families,
but there was nothing for her,
she was nothing but a filthy ragamuffin,
crouching in a reeking corner,
caked in snow and dust,
whilst the sleigh bells laughed their sad laugh,
and all that she could do was hope,
for there was nothing for her,
nothing to spare on Christmas eve,
nothing for that one poor soul.
There was noting for her.

Christmas Clothes

by Elena aged 11

Walk into the shop
Reindeer socks on
Selling Christmas blankets
With Christmas songs on
Walk into the store
Eating a mince pie
Roast lamb and turkey
And a sign ’12 sleeps until Father Christmas arrives’
Walk into the sweet shop
With a pick’n’mix
Selling candy canes
And sherbet sticks
Walk into the room
Decorate the tree
New baubles we brought
For 99p

Cuddles in the Chill

by Chloe Smith aged 14

Slip in tidy as the warmth of your chest swallows my cold
We watch the white fall to the moor
Can I tell this might be Christmas spent well?

Hot cocoa breeze swirls around the room
with the warmth of the crackling flames on the stone beside us

Music of chiming and jolliness surround
the moment I’m spending with you

We snuggle closer as the white wind shakes the roof
Let’s stay here
Let’s spend this time together

We watch the snow storm pass by
We see the glitter gold and the silver lining of the wrapped presents
underneath the glow of a tree holding many balls of green and red

I know I’m happy at this time of year
when we are cuddling in the chill

Christmas Eve

by Erin Bains aged 9

As I walk past the Christmas tree,
I see the enchanting star,
I ask what day is it and my dad says
Christmas Eve
and says, It’s your bed time,
So I run up to my bed
and try to sleep!

Christmas

Christmas is about having fun
Having fun is great
Riding in Santa’s sleigh would be great
I love Christmas
Santa delivers the presents
Time to go to bed
Merry Christmas
And also
Santa

Merry Christmas
The bells are ringing
Jingle jingle jingle
All the the elves are making toys
To send to our houses
We open the presents in the morning
We go to are family’s house
And have Christmas dinner
And eat our Christmas pudding
Yumm yumm yumm very yummy
I was hungry writing this
Merry Christmas to everyone

Christmas at War

0
by Tilly Rogan aged 11

In 1914 the trenches grew cold,
Just as you began to unfold
Your presents with shiny wrapping paper,
But then a few hours later
The ball flew in the air,
This still didn’t make Christmas seem so fair.
Are you guilty?
Are you sad?
Does this true story make you feel bad?
Take a minute to remember
What the soldiers did for you.
They risked there life for YOU!

Santa is coming to your house,
He’s got lots of presents to give out,
Watch out,
Because he is coming!
