Reaching Far

0
by Alessandro Telloli aged 13

Space is an infinite place
For someone it’s cold and dark
For someone there’s no time.
I’m exploring new frontiers
I have no fear.
I’m reaching far
And I’m ready for a new start

The Ocean

0
by Niccolò Malentacchi aged 13

The ocean, blue like the sky
A huge mirror where our fears drown
An immense carpet where our emotions play and have fun
My dreams play hide and seek
Among the waves

The Biggest Giant in the World

0
by Klevis aged 13

A big giant
Big eyes and a big mouth
Two big hands and two legs
A giant as big as the planet
The big eyes to watch where people are going
And a big mouth to eat them

The Golden Dragon

0
by Riccardo Corsi aged 13

Big and elegant
The golden dragon
Flies above the city
Over
The small houses.
And when the night falls
He appears
In the grey clouds

Just Like the Universe

RUNNER UP

My emotions
are as fun
as the sun
My emotions
sometimes are as blue
as the sea
My emotions
are as beautiful
as the sky
My emotions
are as giant
as a planet
My emotions…
just like the universe

The Excellent Earth

by Lexy aged 12

The Earth is amazing
but should really be known for what its worth!
The world is a great place with great people
but it could be better.
As a result we can all work really hard
to make a big, brilliant, better diversity.
We can try to respect our planet a bit more
and our environment.
And together we can all make
a BIG improvement to OUR environment.
The time is now to make changes for our environment!

The Night Before Xmas When I Tried to Help

3
by Iga aged 11

The night before Xmas I was trying to help
Tried to iron but burnt a shirt and then
Tried to help cook I spilled the soup
Then I thought I am not good enough so I tried again
Kept trying and trying but it didn’t work
I forgot about the tree and fell into it
And now I have to find something I am good at
But then I thought really really hard and remembered
I don’t have to be a good cook or a master at ironing
The simplest thing that I can be good at is being myself

In the Trenches

0
by Kayaan aged 11

In the trenches we fall, the gas choking
the lives fading while the women fretting, BOOM!
Bombs destroying innocent lives
The Nazis capturing innocent Jews
The English, the French, the Soviets
all together as one to fight,
fight for their countries
fight for their women
and fight for their lives
In the trenches they hide
while in no man’s land they die
all as one in the trenches they fall
They will be happy after they go through it all,
in no man’s land they perish
after all it’s all a fight,
fight for your life and you might survive,
in the trenches they fall
while In the end they will get through it all.

Nothing Understandable

by Layla Balt aged 11

Space is low
But the sky is high
Out there is someone who wants to try
Out there
In now
Something big
Something small
We don’t make any sense at all
Bring me an egg
Bring me a turtle
This is the mind
Being written
Algorithm to life
Will never fail
Let’s all bring a nice big smile

Are You Happy Now?

by Charlotte Clarke, Izzy Cook, Ellie Clapp aged 12-13

WINNER WINNER WINNER

Dear climate killers,

Are you happy with yourself?
Are you happy that you have caused mass destruction?
People’s futures are ruined.
Are you happy now?

Are you happy now that polar bears have no home
or maybe there hope is drifting on single slither of ice.
Do you enjoy watching as 750 billion tons of ice caps
melt into a black hole of nothingness.
Are you happy now?

Are you happy with the clouds lingering above our heads?
The ones filled with carbon.
Oh yes, you know.
The ones that have come to take our future.
The ones you created.
Yes you! Over there!
All of you!
Are you happy now?

Are you happy with the overflowing oceans
that swallow islands whole?
The last few fish and the turtles
killed with plastic straws.
The copper killed coral is calling your name
and pleading for forgiveness.
Are you listening?
Are you happy now?

Are you happy? Happy, happy, happy!
No of course you’re not! Nothing ever pleases you!
Not the clogged-up clouds or the bare polar bears.
Not even the suffocating smog or the blistering blizzards.
Nothing.
Are you happy?

Take a moment to think.
Take a last look at our evaporating Earth.
One last look till you move onto planet B like you always do.
Well let me tell you, there is no planet B.
There is no superhero to come to your aid.
There is no fairytale potion to get you out of this nightmare.
Are you happy now?
