The Day I Wish I Could Forget

0
by Min Su Kim aged 13

Diagnosed with something new,
Never before seen in a history of families,
A plague that overthrew
Not only my best friend, but countless others too.

I remember those days of walks in the gardens,
Watching golden bees flutter by, flowers yielding neon signs of ‘Spring.’
When life wasn’t such a burden.
When I could be as carefree and happy as I wanted to be without worrying.

But those days flew by too fast,
Leaving me behind without someone to walk with, talk with, laugh with.
To be myself is in the past,
And they say to move on.

How to move on?
When a friend of mine was encaptured by a thing called cancer…
When that means no more feeding fish in a lake, hand in hand, smiles on faces, herebyon?
But they say forget.

It’s hard they always say, but they don’t know that impossible is the truth.
But when I look among the stars,
I can see the glistening pearls of my grandfather’s teeth,
And then, I know he was and will never be gone to me.

First Day at School

0
by Andrew Constantinou aged 11

Mum wakes me up,
Says it’s time to check out big school,
I grunt in reply but go back to sleep,
She comes rushing up,
Shrieks it’s 8:15.
I rush to school,
Trying to go unnoticed,
But I get put in detention,
With Ali McHenton,
Gosh, what a day,
I storm upstairs to my bedroom,
I lie face down on my bed,
Mum wakes me up,
She says it’s the first day of big school,
And I’m late!

April Fool’s Day

0
by Rabiah Aslam aged 10

Waking up, the day’s finally here,
The day I’ve been waiting for all year,
Switching my ming to prank mode,
In my brothers bag I can place a toad,
Green dye to put in my sister’s hair,
There’s no way I’m playing fair,
For my dad,
Something really bad,
And for my mum, bad news
A chocolate cake in her shoes,
Everything they’ve done to me,
I can’t wait, ”Hee hee hee”
After all that I’ll call my friends to dine,
I’m so excited finally, revenge will be mine!

My Dream

by Bhavya Das aged 5

Yesterday was my special day and special dream
It gave me lots and lots of beam
I saw doraemon coming in my house
So I cleaned it making sure there was no mouse
Doraemon came and gave me its 4d pocket
There were many gadgets including HOMEWORK PENCIL and ROCKET
And even BAMBOO-COPTER to fly
And CLIMBING BOOTS to climb high up in the sky
THE MISFORTUNE GUN
And THE GOOD FORTUNE one
And THE TELEPHONE BOOTH
But to tell the truth
It was only a dream but still I loved it
And I didn’t waste even one bit

The Day of Surprise

0
by Henry George Brown aged 7

One day of mass surprise
I entered of despair
For the team
With a guilty glare
I watched my team mates
Play their fair
From me
Saw simple catches
To top corner tips
Was my fair
The victory from first
To the loss of last,
It was the day
Of proper football.
We celebrate the day
Of quarter final worthiness,
When we came 7th
Of 36.

The Night Before Christmas

by Lediona aged 11

The night before Christmas
I couldn’t sleep
I kept going downstairs
To take a little peep

I heard my mum wrapping up presents
I became really breathless

I wanted to know what presents I got
I couldn’t wait
I really could not!!

My Seaside Poem

0
by Jasmine Poade aged 6

Waves crashing to the harbour wall
Crabs scuttling across the rocks
Seagulls squawking on the beach
People walking across the squelchy sand
Put the shell by your ear you can hear the seaside
Children shouting and talking
The sound of a fog horn on a ship.

My Best Birthday

by Pushkar Gupta aged 8

When I turned 8 I had a birthday party
it was so great I couldn’t wait
because I’d been waiting for a long time.
I liked my first birthday party in England
and on my birthday I went to my friend’s house.

I Jumped in the Air

0
by Harshita Das aged 9

It was a special day when I jumped in the air so high
I thought, “I’d probably reach the sky”
But, instead I reached space
There was a shocking expression on my face
I saw, Mercury, Venus, Mars, the Moon and the Sun
Whoa! It was fun
I saw Neptune
With its moon
And Uranus, Jupiter and Saturn and all with rings
And Asteroids and comets and many other things
It was fun being up
But soon enough I saw myself watching TV and holding a cup!

Halloween, Oh Halloween

0
by Ebony Simmons aged 10

Halloween night
When everybody has trick or treat
But do they know about the graves

Mystical creatures come to play
To scare everybody at night
They think this is a joke but is it?

Frankenstein, The Mummy, Skeleton ,
Zombies, Dracula, Witches ,
Wolves, Pumpkins, Treeman

Wake up from your sleep
We’re not dreaming

(Trick or Treat)
