The Turkey’s Last Wish

by Alfie Hayes aged 11

I’m a turkey; my name is Fred
For the past eight Christmases
I’ve been hiding in the farmer’s shed
But I’ve been caught fatter than ever
It’s the same fate as my friend Trevor
What will I be ? Soup? Or a roast dinner?
Shipped off to ASDA to sit on a shelf
Soon to be at the dinner table with Buddy the elf?
So my wish this Christmas, if you will…
Is to win this year’s Strictly,
Won’t that be such a thrill?!

My Christmas Tree

I am out of the attic once again,
Now I am all so so plain.
Dust covers me all around
As my feet finally touch the ground.
Baubles, stars, tinsel and more
And now my house is Christmas galore.
Our lights light up the dark black sky
As people walk past eating mince pies.
I dance and dance around our room
Now it has transferred into a ball room.
Holly as prickly as can be
Thrown onto me.
Santa coming this way tonight
Rudolph will give him a big bright light!.

Peace at Christmas

This Christmas we remember the many who lost their lives in France
Some were watching the football some were having a dance
As we celebrate with glee, it’s Christmas yippee
The Paris attack will go down in history
We leave out our carrots, milk and mince pies –
we shall never forget – people are saying their goodbyes
We think of Christmas in a land of fir tree and pine
We think of Christmas in a land of laughter and mulled wine
Christmas is the joys and and the snow that is white
Christmas is the joys of the star on the tree that shines bright
Remember the 129 in France
Some were watching the football some were having a dance

Santa’s Socks

by Regan aged 8

I smell a smell.
No ordinary smell.
A smell of joy
A smell of jolliness.
I go outside
I look all around
I see reindeer on the roof
and look inside the sleigh
and see a pair of Santa’s socks
That’s the smell.

Reindeer Ruckus

Reindeer are cool I dream about them every night
They are so cool
I got one for Christmas Eve
It runs and races
I can’t keep up, it is too fast and too cool.
The day I wanted a reindeer is Christmas Eve
They stomped and rambled all over the roof
and I woke up my mom and dad and told them
“There is a big sound! ”
and when I dragged them down stairs
they thought I was crazy
and my parents found out I told them to look up
they saw nothing but cloud
and I told them about the reindeer
because tomorrow was Christmas

Sparkly tinsel on the tree,
Lots of presents just for me,
All the joyful family,
What a spcial place to be!

Santa

Landing on the snowy roof
Santa pulls the reindeer reins,
He laughs a merry HO, HO, HO
And eats the candy canes!
