You make me happy
You light up the stars
You will be famous one day
So don’t be sad
I will be there for you
In your heart
Just keep on going
No matter where you are
Just don’t be scared
I will show you the way up

Dear, dear brother,
When we fight I get sad.
But when our room Is messy,
I get mad.
It’s not my fault
that I get Mad.
Frogs, dogs and bees. Compare and contrast
A frog would like a fly
but dogs may think they’re dry
Bees make honey
Dogs like to be funny

My Wee Shelter
Winning Poem
Siren screeched
“Not again!”
Where’s my gas mask?
Siblings race past me.
People panic!
I hope Dad’s okay.
Why are we fighting?
The shelter – At last.
So afraid!
So cramped!
Drone of planes deafen me.
Fire and bangs!
Houses crumble!
Mum’s air freshener drowns my nose.
Ground shakes,
I shiver,
Mum sings.
Tea slithers down my throat.
Jam and bread crunch my teeth.
I feel stronger.
Phew – all clear at last.
Don’t want to go
Time to leave
Can’t bear to look!
Screams fill the air,
Rubble and destruction everywhere.
Dark sky descends over destroyed buildings
Gasp!
Where’s our house gone!
Silent tears fell onto me.
Why has this happened?
Broken glass litters the street.
Where do we live now?
What will we eat?
What do we do?
The Gladiator Versus The Lion
Winning Poem
There stood he, in the Colosseum
Awaiting his dreadful fate,
A sword in his hand a helmet on his head,
Ready for the fight to begin.
The gate was opened, the crowd went quiet,
A ferocious beast entered the Colosseum,
It had blood on its mouth and blood in its mane,
And a roar that made the whole ground shake.
It bounded up towards the man,
With it’s huge teeth hanging out of its mouth,
But the man didn’t move, not one inch,
And with one swing of the sword killed the beast.
The Middle Ages
Winning Poem
The Middle Ages is my favourite time,
And as to why I will explain in this rhyme.
Overflowing adventure and history,
(Don’t forget to add in mystery!)
Most of the time victory,
Which could also end most bitterly.
Brave knight fighting on,
On until the dawn,
Maidens screaming surrender,
Awaiting their defender.
This is my world,
This is my love,
These are things bad guys want to get rid of.
But they will always fail,
And have to turn to bail,
For my world has a force,
Greater than armour or horse.
My world is supreme,
Sad,
Beautiful,
And everything in between.
Robert Burns
Winning Poem

My heart’s in the highlands
Lots of poems
Lots of songs
Great for a rainy day
Scotland, Ayr
In a White House
Lived Robert burns
Working in the fields
All day long
At night to sit down and write
Must have a good imagination
And a good brain
Lots of ideas
Good ideas
Expressing his feelings
Very optimistic
And writes
Very good
Poems
In the Life of Zeus
Winning Poem
Greek Gods, powerful Gods,
Zeus was the one who threw lightening rods,
Hades ruled the underworld,
Poseidon’s tail was always curled,
When he got angry he would make the ground shake,
Creating a humongous earthquake.
Hera had a lonely life
When Zeus went to Earth,
To see other women,
He is so in trouble!
Zeus had a daughter called Aphrodite,
A beautiful goddess was she,
Apollo, Athena, Hermes,
To mention only three.
Zeus’s father Cronus,
Ate his siblings whole,
But by the time Zeus was born,
His mother grew very clever,
She had Zeus in secret,
And made him eat a stone
So that Zeus could take the throne.
And Zeus was king of the Gods for many years on.
