The Invisible Ghost

by Lara Moeller aged 8

There is an invisible ghost, Mum,
it’s definitely a poltergeist.
I know I never seen it
but I have a proof.

Yesterday in the morning the window was open,
you know how much I hate the morning breeze.
The sweet jar disappeared in the middle of the night,
I know there is an invisible ghost.

Dear Dad

by Lily Moeller aged 6

Our cousins are trouble,
they have pushed the flower vase on the cat,
they have made muddy finger prints on the wall.

Maybe it was my younger sister
or maybe my younger brother
but honestly Dad whoever it was

It wasn’t me!

Message in a Bottle

0
by Cassie Traynor aged 9

A message in a bottle
Floating in the blue
It doesn’t know what to say
It doesn’t know what to do.

A message in a bottle
Bobbing in the green
It doesn’t know where it is
It doesn’t know where it’s been.

A message that was in a bottle
Escaped from its prison
The idea of a message is copied round the world
The messages have risen!

The War

by Prabhnoor Rai aged 10

The First World War started in 1914,
And was probably the worst that the world had ever seen.
You could ask the men that fought in the war what they saw. Did they see birds carrying messages across ‘No Man’s Land’ Or struggling soldiers fighting on the sand.
Did they see men gasping for air,
Or the opposition bombing without a care? Once you’ve finished asking these questions you might forget That these men died so that you could sleep without a fret. The message here is nice and clear
That you should stand up to what you think is right without a fear. I don’t think I need an amplifier to make myself heard
Because I would just sound absurd.
Now I’ve finished I hope you realize
That people fought in the war no matter what age or what size.

What a Persuasive Letter!

Dear Chocolate Maker,

Unappetising, inextraordinary, tasteless- is this the reputation you would like to hold for your sweets?
These don’t appeal to me as nice treats.

Everyone agrees you are the best chocolate maker in the world,
Not one person after eating your confectionary would have hurled.

Anyway let’s get to the point,
I would like to share my viewpoint.

I would like to attempt to ask you to make my delight,
People’s eyes will glisten in the light.

This fruit is straight from the Amazon Rainforest,
After eating this you shall be nourished.

The filling is concocted by the inventor,
After it sits and waits in the centre.

What do you think, would you manufacture this?
If not, it would be a big fat miss.

Thank you for all of your time,
Don’t be rushed take all night and daytime.

Yours Sincerely,
Risha Tanwar

My homework is a pain,
I really don’t understand the gain,
After working hard at school all day,
Why can’t I just relax and play?!

Tip Tap the message goes
Into the world only God knows
Inspire others
So there are no bothers
So let’s carry on, here we go

Together we are stronger
With one another
Be strong and proud of who you are
Remember you are your own unique star

Here we go into the sky so blue
Here we go, a message to you ….

Send Me Away

by Chiamaka Uchegbu aged 7

Send me away in a post box
And you won’t see me soon

But I’ll zoom all over the world
And ride in a canoe

And when you open the parcel
You will be surprised to see…
ME!

You were the bravest of the brave
You were remarkable
You flew for your life
You were the best bird

You travelled over land and sea
To fight for King and country
We relied on you
You were special

Always there for us
Loyal, kind and caring
Britain’s Great Protector
One of a kind

Thank you Cher Ami
I would not be here without you.
