The Fireworks of Love

1
by Jessica Lily Thompson aged 14

The fire in my heart burns bright and true
But for who?
Well let me tell you,
Her hair is very smooth but curls at the bottom
like the firework that barely travels straight up then
BOOM goes everywhere,
Her eyes are deep blue in the light but are brown in the dark
like the firework that changes colour as it descends
Her facial features are more perfect than ever
and can’t get better
like the firework that suddenly explodes and makes a heart in the sky
Her personality is best, when she speaks it sends of high pitched sparks
like the fireworks that makes a squealing sound
and spins round.
And that is my best friend and this isn’t a love poem 🙂

The Weather Place

by Farah aged 8

Once there was a big sun that warmed up England
It was so beautiful and lovely
but the clouds came and then rain
It was a sad day
but eventually the lightning and thunder
started to appear and then the sun came
warmed everywhere up again

I feel like it has a mind,
Slurp ew click clack ew
It was in my room now its in the loo
Slurp ew click clack ew
It was quite small now it fills the whole hall.
Slurp ew click clack ew
Today I got a slime now
I know it has a mind.

Winter, Winter, Winter

0
by Haleema aged 12

When will winter start?
The way winter calls my name,
But greets me instead with an icy blow.
It puts on a great big show
As the snow gently falls below.
It’s an absolute wonder to my eyes,
However my nose turns red in disagreement.
The harsh, blustery wind fights past my warm winter gloves,
And stains my fingers
The same colour as my nose.
Yet on and on, the winter lingers,
Snowing enough to give me a cold,
But not enough to even make a snowball.
This winter is so tall,
And this winter is so colassal,
So all I’m asking now is,
When will this winter end?

Hot like fire,
Sweet like pie,
Give me lemonade
Or I’ll cry!
Lemonade is soft,
Lemonade is sweet,
Come on, sing along to the beat!
Hot like fire,
Sweet like like pie
Give me lemonade
Or I will cry!
