Nativity Tradition

by Marselis Davis aged 20

The story of Christ‘s birth
Is told every year
Yet it holds the same worth
And it still brings good cheer

The story of herdsmen
Tending to their flock
When angels from heaven
Caused them a great shock

The angels gave them news
Of a baby boy
Who was King of the Jews
And would bring the world joy

The story of King Herod
Sending wise men to find
The baby Son of God
Who troubled his mind

They followed a star
Shining bright in the sky
The guide from afar
Delighted the Magi

They found the King of Kings
Just as prophecy foretold
They gifted him many things
Like incense and gold

The story of Christ‘s birth
Is told every year
Yet it holds the same worth
And it still brings good cheer

The story of a Saviour
Born of a virgin
To die for our behaviour
And save us from sin

AB -My Autistic Brother

0
by Abigail Adil aged 12
Poem for AB:
Abraham has been a blessing in this family.
When U start talking, me and U will be together happily.
Happily like two peas in a pod, each other’s halves, each other’s companions
and maybe be mum and dad’s new type of annoyance.
Ur eyes are something so innocent, innocent like heaven.
Ur smile is so adorable, so adorable my heart is sunken.
If I just look at U, my bravery and faith strengthen.
This angel that I call my brother, will turn nine and will be so divine.
Sometimes my anger will take control of me,
but that doesn’t stop me from loving of what’s mine.
MY sunshine in the day, my moon at night, I hope U have a wonderful birthday
and may God make Ur future nice and bright.

I wrote it for my nine year old Autistic non verbal brother Abraham.

Onion

When people cut up onions,
Then people cry.
When we make poha
Then the onions fry.
Onion is tasty,
Garlic is its bestie.

Sleep Baby Sleep

by Uday Ghumre aged 12

Sleep baby sleep
Seven days in a week
You’ve pink cheeks
Sleep baby sleep

Sleep baby sleep
Have no fear
Your mother is here
Sleep baby sleep

Sleep baby sleep
You make me sigh
Please don’t cry
Sleep baby sleep

Sleep, baby sleep
I’ll pat you on your head
Sleep on your bed
Sleep, baby sleep.

Sleep baby sleep
I’ll give you clothes of silk
I’ll give you some milk
Sleep baby sleep

My Christmas Senses Poem

1
by Orla aged 6

I can see presents under the Christmas tree.
I can hear Santa and his reindeers landing on my roof.
I can smell the sweet chocolate Yule log.
I can feel the spiky branches on the Christmas tree.
I can taste the buttery soft croissants melting in my mouth.

Our Friends

Who works in the factory,
He is called a worker.
Who works on the farm,
He is called a farmer.
Who builds buildings,
He is called a builder.
Who cleans our home,
He is called a cleaner.
Who walks on the road,
He is called a walker.
And he who runs on the road,
He is called a runner.
Who will study nicely,
He will be a topper.

My Runaway Snowman

by Areeba aged 12

On the day before Christmas
I made a snowman,
As splendid as could be.
I hoped I could keep it as a pet
And let it sleep with me.
It turned out I could
So I got it some PJs,
A blanket to keep it warm,
And placed it on my pillow
To give it some sweet dreams.
But then on Christmas Day
It decided to run away,
But before that it wet my bed AWFULLY!

I Love Double Cheeseburgers

by Kaelan Robert O'Donnell MacKenzie aged 10

Oh I love double cheeseburgers
Specially from McDonald’s
But I eat them in 10 minutes
But I really like them
When I’m eating the I like playing with my stylophone
But then again I sometimes get cheese on my stylophone

It’s Christmas time
Get ready and sway all day
Open all your presents
Fingers crossed you get what you want
When Santa comes down the chimney
