My dog is called Sky
and no, she is not blue
but she is very sly
and she knew what not to do
when her best friend died.
She let out a cry.

She is a bit shy but she does not lie
she is true when she coos
when I said paw it felt a bit dry
I love my dog she is my best friend
and I’ll be there till the end of time.

Manchester is My Home

4
by Riley Higginbotham aged 9

Manchester is my home
it’s where I fly my drone
and my friend made a clone
I got hit by a stone
that had been thrown
at my bone
I love eating scones
that I don’t own
My game was postponed
because it got hit by the drone
then my computer got blown
My voice has a certain tone
so I stand alone
at least my grass has grown
and still my bone
hurts from the stone
and I can’t get a loan
as I don’t have a phone

My Brother

by Apoorva Vellanki aged 30

My brother is a gift for me from another mother.
He is my biggest supporter.
My brother is like my friend.
He fulfils all my needs.
When he comes to visit me
Happiness arises in me.
Without him, I feel very lonely.
Because he is the one and only
I am lucky to have a brother like him.
He is really super.
Whenever we meet with each other,
We spend quality, lovely time.

My dog is called Sky
and no she is not blue
When her best friend died
she let out a cry,
and always knew when to be true.
She is a bit shy when she sees a new guy.
When she’s bored she lets out a coo.
I love my dog and she does lie
and now it’s time to say goodbye.

Snow Falls

3
by Riley Higginbotham and Heva Bashir aged 9 and 8

As snow falls
I go to the mall,
I threw cannonballs,
whilst all the boys there playing baseball,
Screamed, ”I WANT TO PLAY FOOTBALL!”
”No,” said Mrs Darwin.
”You’re already pro at football,” said Mrs Darwin again
So as it’s near the end of winter,
”Again, a denier of football,” said mister.
“I spilled glitter!” screamed Owen.

In Their Shoes

1
by Talia Ziv aged 10

In the night the sirens sound
I’m anxious that I won’t be found

My sorry heart waiting in the dark of night
Will I be there when there is finally light?

I’m a living dead
And there’s nothing to be fed

Hidden hearts and suffering souls
There’s no more in my mind than holes

Bombs whistling and sirens wailing
The Jewish people are nothing but failing

The Star of David sewn on my heart
As all families are torn apart

I wish the world was just in peace
I wish this fighting would just cease

Girls

2
by Jessica Keymer aged 9

Some girls will like you,
Some will spite you!
Boys have to watch out,
Some will just dodge us.
As if you hate girls, hmm, I see,
As she twirls beautifully.
Well, as we might cause some drama,
Catch your llamas!
You may find us nice and all,
but we can turn up the spice and stuff.
So stop relying on men,
Instead use a pen!
Dogs and cats are cute,
But we like playing the flute.
It’s not a talent,
It’s just balanced!
Boys are better?,
No we are equal like a letter.

Be safe
