I love my mom,
She is like a dove,
For me, she’s one step above.
Sometimes she gets angry,
Which makes me sad,
But when she is happy,
It makes me glad.

Girl with a Pearl
I was singing,
the echo in my ear was ringing,
the ideas in my head were clinging,
I sang about a girl who was swinging,
With a pearl she twirled, her hair in one curl.
My Favourite Songs
Good Luck, Babe,
But not for a slave!
Please Please Please,
Dreams Dreams Dreams!
I Had some Help,
Welp I should get some help!
Too sweet,
Oh its still a treat!
Stargazing,
It’s blazing!
Not like us,
that song’s a must!
Orphans
The smile on their faces
when someone comes to meet them
I am not telling you, telling you to adopt
But you sure can spend some time with them
From Christmas presents to joy
You can at least give them that
A new pair of clothes can truly brighten up the day
But for them it can brighten their whole week
A new Barbie doll or a football
A toy for them is like a gift from God
Even if you don’t give them a gift
I am sure you would at last go and spend some time with them
Playing hide and seek or reading them a book
They might not be your kids
But they are kids
So treat them like that
School
Pencils, pens, glues, scissors,
all the things you use at school,
teacher says, “English time!”
Some say Yes! Some say, not cool!
The morning register seems so slow,
but don’t forget,
the lesson you are about to have could change your life,
don’t say,” School is boring” look at all the people you met!
And trust me it can be hard,
but that’s just life and it can go quickly,
if you spend it judging one of the best times of your life,
It is quite sickly,
There may be tests,
exams or quizzes,
but the best year you will ever have is year 6,
and the teachers you have are amazing, Mr or Mrs!
So don’t judge school,
because that’s not cool,
it’s like being in a pool,
zero gravity, you’re free.
Summer Days
Ice lolly popsicle time
my favourite flavour is lime
It’s pool time
when its not cool
I use it as a tool
The Cake
There once was a girl that loved cake
One day she made a lovely bake
But when she looked back it was gone!
She was not daydreaming for that long
She looked up she looked down
Then she was just about to frown
Then she thought, thought and thought
Then she thought silly me!
She had eaten it already!
I Feel the Things People Can’t Feel.
I see the things people can’t see
I see the shoots of plants before they emerge
I see the shadows of ghosts
I see the sounds of mice
I see my eyes blink
I hear the things people can’t hear
I hear the sounds of a ladybird’s footsteps
I hear the sound of lightning not thunder
I hear a different language
I hear the lightbulb switch on and off
I smell the things people can’t smell
I smell the season’s air change
I smell the scent of candles in a sewer
I smell fear
I smell love
I taste the things people can’t taste
I taste sweet instead of salt
I taste the things on TV
I taste the pencil’s led
I taste the clouds
I touch the things people can’t touch
I touch my head and sense forgotten dreams
I touch my dog in hospital and I feel emptiness
I touch my crush and my heart hurts
I hug my family and I feel love
I feel cold when close to fire
I feel warm next to my family
I feel confused on what my friends call an easy question
I feel normal when I answer a hard question
What am I? I don’t know
School
A place to read,
A place to write,
A place to calm,
A place of light.
A place of words,
A place of thought,
A place full of books,
A place where people are taught.
A place of work,
A place of tests,
A place of exams,
A place with no rests.
A place of love,
A place of fun,
A place of safety,
A place never forgotten.
