Cats sleep anywhere
On your couch or chair
Ledge or edge lap or
Tap bed or head
Cats don’t care
They will sleep anywhere!

A Man and a Dog

by Guy aged 11

A man and a dog
One big, one small, depending on types
They stick together like glue
The man says, Me and you watch the world move
The dog just barks and eats.

Bread

by Ethan Maclaren aged 8/2

In early light the scent of warm bread fills the air
Gold crust crackling whispering promises of comfort and care
A simple pleasure, a staple of life’s daily routine, symbol of sustenance
The lovely smell of bread, oh how I love it

This is a Haiku

by Isabelle Sweeney aged 11

This is a haiku
Really very simple, see?
But it just can’t be

Five syllables first
Seven in the middle line
Five syllables last

No that can’t be it
Is it made of a soft cheese?
No, it must be words

Oh I’ve gotten it
How could I have not noticed
It broke a big rule

A haiku can only have three lines.

Money’s Not Edible

by Lennon Morgan aged 10

As the markets expand…
The fires follow suit
As the people buy…
The creatures die.

As the factory’s pump…
The planet becomes a dump
As we run and hide, we regain the memories
Of all of the human race’s felonies

Christmas

Oh Christmas Joy,
You see that boy?
He loves Christmas.
But he has an awful sickness.
He had a Delicious Dinner,
A Christmas Dinner!
Roast beef,
With a baked potato!
But had a disagreement about having medicine,
Santa Clause gave him a bad treatment…
On Christmas Eve You will not believe what happened..
HE GOT NO PRESENTS!
I guess when you have a very bad illness you have to have medicine,
But that other day,
He got a present!
It had a note that said
“Next Christmas if your sick, you have to have your medicine, signed Santa Clause.”
A YEAR LATER AT CHRISTMAS
You see the boy again,
He was sick,
He again had a disagreement with medicine…
On Christmas eve…
He got no presents again…
But the day after
Still no presents.
He waited another day to see if there would be a present there
But no,
It didn’t come
But the next day,
He had another message!
Saying
“You Will Not Receive Anymore Gifts, Harrison. ”
He wondered who it was..
After then, he never had any gifts..
IF IT’S CHRISTMAS AND YOUR READING THIS…
HAPPY JOLLY CHRISTMAS! 🙂 0

You are one of the amazing parts of my life.
I love you as a friend.
You are amazing just the way you are.
Side by side all the time.
Share each others trust.
Cared about each other and always loved.
Bestest friends.

PS to my friend Stella Knee, always by my side.

Magical Days of Sixth Grade

0
by Arika Bhatia aged 10

Sixth grade days are filled with fun and play
Learning new things every single day
Sixth graders with pens in their hands
And right there bright futures were planned

We fought through English and conquered each sum
We wrote stories in which imaginations run
Eager minds and curious hearts
All set for a brand new start

With games and jokes they passed time
If you disturb them its known as a crime
Open minds a wide horizon
To create memories to cherish forever

Nature

by Heva Bashir aged 8

Oh look at them leaves you see?
Beautiful,
We have it to live,
We breathe nature,
Oh God how will we survive without it?
All those creatures,
Eating.
Oh do you love it when you breathe fresh air?
Oh thanks to nature alright!
All those trees,
You cannot live without it,
Otherwise how will we eat?
Once we are born,
If there are no trees,
How will we live?
Oh, we eat from trees,
Don’t you love when your parents make these delicious and spectacular foods,
Just for us to eat from nature?
Oh, all the stuff we eat,
We can never live without food or water,
Do you know the water you drink?
That’s from nature too,
Do you see those lakes?
It’s from rain.
Oh trees oh trees!
May we not live without it!
Oh trees oh trees!
Thank you for making us eat so much spectacular food!
Oh trees, oh trees!
We cannot survive without you!
It’s all from nature,
You are lucky you was born.
You are unique,
Oh you’re lucky to eat,
All from nature.

What’s Your Favourite Colour?

2
by Jessica Keymer aged 9

What’s your favourite colour?
Although it may go under-cover.
I like red
If I had a painting I would spread it all around!
Lana says I like orange I say as much as the mountain Blorenge?
If you like yellow It’s bouncy like jello!
Green as you say The Grinch is very mean.
I’m so blue I could use some glue.
Purple tires me but I just think of circles!
Pink is like a yummy drink.
Well That’s me done for now!
I better run back to my house
And care for that little mouse
Toodles!
