A Walk of Dream

When you walk it’s lots of fun
For runners, kids and everyone.
When you’re jogging around the park
Or strolling through a tunnel that very dark.
Try walking up and down and left and right,
In house or bridge.Hold on tight!
Try skipping down a hill so steep
Or trudging in sticky mud that’s deep.
Maybe dream while you have your rest
to climb a scaly dragon in its nest.
You may need to tip-toe! Not loud as a drum!
Or the dragon will wake and say,”Yum!”.

Why Are We Not United?

Why are we not united
In everything we do?
The world would be a better place
if I was stuck to you.

Why are we not united,
In saving our home the Earth?
Deforestation is really bad,
can we just stop it please?

Why are we not united,
Just tell me, why not?
Whether you live in China or England,
you don’t need to be alone.

Now the coronavirus has attacked,
we should stand together,
heads held high,
not just one.

Virus

The virus is bad.
We get very sad.
We get very mad.
When will we see our friends again?
And see our grandparents too?

I Love My Cat Matty!

by Lyra Zborowski aged 10

I love my cat Matty…
He has so many nicknames, does Matty!
He’s Matty McSplatty one day,
The next he’s Matty Pattie!
He’s really cute, though not acute,
because that means small and he’s huge!
Now we are in lockdown,
Matty gets so much attention!
He loves it so much, oh he is such
A beautiful, cutie-ful cat!

The Artist

by Nathan aged 11

In the cold Autumn breeze,
A hooded figure wandered towards a damp building,
His spray-paint clutched in his nimble hand.
Day by day he returned to create his masterpiece,
On the day he finished the model he made was a dying tree,
People gathered to see what it meant but no one knew,
Even the smartest man in town didn’t know what it symbolised.
But then a hooded stranger came
And spoke in a whisper saying,
“Autumn has come”.
How do I know this, you may say,
I know this is because,
That artist is me.

Inside Outside

by Savannah C. aged 10

We go inside, not outside,
The world cannot decide.
Because of the virus,
There’s not many survivors.
We go inside, not outside,
The world can not decide.
It’s so sad ,
The fun we could have had.
With every friend,
This comes to an end .

My City

by Mahroosh Qasim aged 8

My city is Coventry
It is very lovely
But we can’t go out
We’re trapped in house
Because of Covid 19
No one is seen
All the shops are empty
Everyone feels pity
We are trying to stay safe
We want everything to be in the right place

Scary Jungle

by Mahroosh Qasim aged 8

I’m in the jungle now
But I can hear a growl
I get lost
How much does it cost
I look behind
I see a vine
Then I go to look for someone
But who do I find? No one
I count to ten
I see men
One called Andrew
But they are all a statue
I go for a swim
I think I win
But I didn’t
And My mum is already of to Lidl
What do I do?
Am I in the zoo?
No, I’m in the jungle
Shall I juggle? Or jiggle?

Dark and Light

by Mahroosh Qasim aged 8

Dark is night
Not like light
Light is day
Where mums say
“Wake up school time.”
Some children say it’s to early
Not like my dog Sherly
Sherly can wake up any time
Even when it’s time to eat lime
When it’s dark and it’s bedtime
We only have the time
TO PLAY ON ELECTRONICS
But 5 seconds later
your mum says brush your teeth then go to sleep
Then you’re about to weep
Well, that’s how dark and light works
Or maybe day and night

Lockdown

Covid 19’s here and I am trapped in my house
I really really want t,e I can get fresh air
Guess guess it’s not the far
IT’S MY GARDEN
But it’s the same place every day
I don’t get the chance to say yay
And also my auntie is trapped in Pakistan
She can’t find flights to come back
I have got one wish
Maybe the same as a fish
And my wish is…
I JUST WANT CORONA VIRUS
TO GO AWAY FOR ETERNITY.
but people say it would come back
Why wasn’t it trapped in a pack
