Fish and Chips

by Charlie Patrick Pye aged 10

Fish and chips are the best,
Eat them in your pants and vest.
Not just here but also there,
You can eat them anywhere.

Fish and chips taste so good,
I would eat them if I could.
In my house or in a boat,
Even with a friendly goat.

Fish and chips are the best,
So much better than the rest!!!

A Little Girl

1
by Lizzie aged 7

Once a little girl
wanted to play
but she did not have a date
for the little girl
only had a certain hour
to reply before the day
and the play was over for life
but if she did not die
she would never play
and she would not ever stay
so she played
she played the day
and after that day had been played
she decided it was time to die
but she still needed to die
but even though she didn’t grow
she knows almost that every day
you need to play
to save the day
of those who can’t play

Darkness

0
by Reem Kazmi aged 9

Darkness, darkness, like the eyelid of the night sky,
Darkness, darkness, the phantom haunting innocent souls,
The shroud that hides the unknown from the human eye…

Light is nonexistent in this gloom-filled land,
Nobody really knows if they can get out,
While colossal clouds of sorrow rule the pitch black sky…

It is the companion of the blind.

When We Head To School…

0
by Owen P aged 9

When we head to school
It sure will be quite cool
but as I leave again without my family
I won’t see them as much as we do.
When we head to school
I will be very happy to see my friends today,
and every Saturday,
I’ll go right to the pool where it’s nice and cool.

You Can Be ABC

by Zara Selant aged 9

You can be,
An arty Author or a brilliant Baker
How about a crafty Composer or a daredevil Diver
What about an eccentric Editor or a fearless Firefighter
You could be a genuine Gamer or a humorous Hairdresser
An incredible Illustrator or a jazzy Journalist
How about a kooky Knitter or a lazy Librarian
What about a magical Magician or a nutty Nanny
You could be an obscure Optician or a positive Pilot
A quality Quizmaster or a radical Referee
How about a successful Surgeon or a talented Tailor
What about an unique Usher or a vivacious Ventriloquist
You could be a wicked Weaver or a xenial Xylophonist
A youthful Yeoman or a zappy Zara.
You can be anything

The Parts of a Flower

0
by Simone Colaco aged 10

I’m going to teach you
About
The parts of a flower

First comes the anther,
The little ones say panther
But all it contains is two pollen sacks

Next comes the filament,
Some get ligament tears
But all it does is it holds the anther

Then comes the sepal,
There’s many people
But all it does is protects the flower

After that comes the receptacle,
Some are celebrating festivals
But all it does is it holds the flower parts

Following that comes the nectary,
Some hate celery
But all it does is produces the nectar

After the nectary comes the style,
Some run a mile
But all it does is it supports the stigma

Next comes the ovary,
I’m just writing poetry
But all it contains is ovules

Then comes the stigma,
Some people are enigmas
But all it receives is pollen

Finally comes the petals
There are many metals
But all it attracts is bees

I hope you learnt
The parts of a flower
Oh no, I’m out of flour

Long Dreams

0
by Samya Kulshreshtha aged 10

Long dreams,
Send you some beams,
They scare you in the night,
And give you a fright,
They meet you and you scream,
But some have talking ice cream,
In the morning they’ll always be there,
Because they will be in your hair!

After Lockdown!

by Megan Walls aged 9

After lockdown things will change,
We will be back at school again,
We will be seeing our friends,
Doing all the things we have missed most.
After lockdown things will change,
Then the world will be well again!

Worries

1
by Bethany H aged 10

Worries can be scary.
Worries can be mean.
They can give you nightmares in between
all your happy dreams.
Some times they make you so weak,
that you find it hard to speak!
But sometimes you have to be brave
and tell them to behave!

Let Me Help You

0
by Bethany H aged 10

I look in the mirror
but all I can see is you,
and your face is blue.
Why won’t you let me help you?
Because I just hate it
when you feel blue.
And you did, you let me help you.
So now your face is no longer blue,
because I told all your worries to shoo!
