Green Life

6
by Phoebe Moran aged 10

An acorn in hand,
So small, vulnerable,
And yet it holds life,
Life that lasts a hundred years.

A sapling,
Spindly, vivid green,
So tiny,
And yet, destined to be tallest of all.

A young tree,
With first ever bark,
New and fresh,
Naïve in the changing world.

An older tree now,
Children climb on you,
Lovers kiss under the boughs,
Many springs have passed.

An ancient tree,
Lived many centuries,
Watched many things,
Wise.

A dying tree,
The leaves are withered,
The once young bark peeling off,
Goodbye.

An oak,
Given life,
Been life,
New life begins!

Summer is amazing
summer is fun
we get to do some learning

That’s why I like summer
summer, summer

What’s Happening?

1
by ? aged ?

…what’s happening,
…what could it be,
…who am I,
…a monkey in a tree?
…Who is it,
…who could it be,
…I don’t know myself,
…perhaps you could try and remember for me?
…Then suddenly,
…I know you and me,
…I’m nine years old,
…and my name is Molly,
…I go to school,
…I don’t live in a tree,
…and finally I know,
Who I’m going to be.

Who Am I?

by Rose aged 9

Where am I?
Who am I?
Where could I be?
I am out here and it’s just me.
What’s gonna happen tomorrow and the next?
Oh, please do not forget to text.
All I want is to swim in the sea
Oh what could be happening to me?

Mr. Twit’s Beard

0
by Micah Becker Goodman aged 9

Black, bristly hair
Enormous and repulsive.
Accidentally full of mouldy old food.
Rotten cornflakes and stinky slimy salad
Disgusting, horrible beard.

Together

0
by Savannah C. aged 10

We wish we were together,
Though lockdown is not forever.
We’re bored cause of Covid 19,
Everything is cancelled, like the football team.
We’re in a worry,
We’re in a hurry.
All have joy,
Play with a toy.
(if you’re a child)

Blue

0
by Evie Southall aged 10

Don’t be blue,
It’s the start of something new,
The world is turning,
The milk is churning,
Don’t worry we will win this battle too!

Rainbows

0
by Rose Mcgrath aged 9

When it rains look for rainbows
When it’s dark look for stars
You can only get rainbows in the rain
And you can only get stars in the dark
Vibrant magic in the sky
That are amazing you can’t lie
Sun and rain creates joy
Rainbows could attract a boy

I Forgot

1
by I forgot... aged ?

I forgot my name,
oh what do I do?
I forgot my name,
that is new.

Was it Rose?
Oh my, who knows?

Was it Sheep?
nah that would make me weep.

That means it must be Mice,
Oh that’s nice,
but it isn’t.

Its, I DON’T KNOW!
